It is officially crunch time – I now have less than two weeks to finish getting everything ready for my grandson’s arrival. The landscapers are outside right now putting up the fence around my raised beds, and hopefully I’ll be able to get the plants in the ground this evening – but if not today, then tomorrow for sure. I had to untangle tendrils from our broom and some tomato leaves today – these guys are ready for the raised bed and trellis.
With everything going on, and my grandson’s imminent arrival, I’m not sure I’ll have as much time to write every day. I plan to still make an effort to carve out a bit of time each day to do some writing, but the chaos to schedules that occur with the arrival of a 12-year-old may alter that somewhat. I’m also looking for activities and things for him to do with other kids his own age – I can’t just take him out to shoot every day (as much as we’d both probably enjoy it).
Since he’ll be here over Independence Day, we’ll surely take him somewhere to watch the fireworks, and probably to the rodeo and carnival. I guess I’ll probably buy some fireworks for us to set off ourselves as well. I can take him to the river and pool where the kids go to swim, since he absolutely loves swimming, and I can see if there is a summer camp or other activity he can attend to meet some kids his age.
Anyhow, I still need to finish my office (and clear everything off my old one so I can use it for a plant table outside) and check on the crew putting up the fence, so…
