It has already been a bit hectic today but progress is being made. The landscapers came out this morning and worked on spreading the compost and got the area around my raised beds ready for the fence. Tomorrow, the fence goes up and the rest of the compost should be spread and that project ready for tilling. As soon as the fence is up, I need to get the plants in the soil – my bottle gourd is growing like kudzu and trying to grab on to anything it possibly can.
I spoke on the phone with my ex, CJ, today. We still keep in contact over text but haven’t actually spoken in a while, so it was nice to catch up. It was good to hear that she is doing pretty well and has a good life on the east coast. I think we actually get along better just as friends than when we were dating.
We also installed the small window-hanger AC unit yesterday – it got up to about 90° yesterday and indoors it was much worse. It is a small one, but manages to keep the bedroom habitable at least. It gets pretty warm here so it is nice to have, though I still want to get the circulation air intake installed downstairs so we can cycle the cool air in the summer, and the warm air in the winter.
Anyhow, plants need watering and I need to pry gourd tendrils off a tomato plant…
