Well there it is, number three – Dolly Parton. I just knew another death was around the corner, but Dolly was a national icon. I really can’t say I was into her music, but I also can’t deny her impact on the industry and our society.

I don’t want to dwell on death all day again, but this one hurts. My parents listened to her and I grew up with her music and seeing her on Hee Haw. This is nearly as much of a direct assault on my childhood as discovering they are selling Lamb Chop as a dog toy.

Anyhow, the day has already been relatively productive. The lawn gal has come and gone, I picked today’s bounty of veggies, and the garden’s already been watered. I think I’ll turn the sprinkler on for the birds this afternoon, as they seem to really enjoy it. I still need to finalize the logistics for our trip to LA for Iron Maiden, as well as for our Labor Day weekend plans.
I’d better get to it…
