Things are better today – it is amazing how a bit of snuggling and affection can go so far to soothe feelings.
Today is the first really nice day since the deck was screened in, and I’ve already spent some time out there setting out the plants and letting the cats explore their new space. I’m a bit surprised, however, that Roscoe didn’t take advantage of the new screened in deck. He popped out for a little bit, but quickly retreated back inside and sat in the window watching us out on the deck. We will be adding a few things, like a cat-tree for them later, but I’m still surprised that he didn’t want to hang out on the deck and lay in a sunspot – maybe I’ll drag an Amazon box out there for him.
The plants are doing great – the light upgrade made exponential improvements over the cheap Amazon lights. I need to look into getting a few more of them to mount on the plant shelves when they are built. most everything has sprouted already, and the cucumbers already need to be potted. There are a few that have yet to sprout, but historically, those have sprouted later in the season anyways (they needed more warmth to get going). This weekend I need to get the tomato babies in their pots for the giveaway, and over the next month I need to get everything else ready as well. (Which also reminds me, I need to order the fencing I’m going to use around the raised beds.)
Anyhow, it is too nice of a day to be inside (though I do plan to take my writing time outside once we have put everything back in order on the new deck) so…
