You think I’ll let it go, you’re mad…

Yesterday was hectic and busy, but we got a lot accomplished on our city run. We hit a new “retro gaming” store (though really more of a second-hand media shop as they had much more than just games) that opened last week and while they didn’t have any of the games I was looking for, I did score a pro-recorded live bootleg CD of Iron Maiden, as well as a VHS copy of “The Day After,” which will be residing right next to my VHS copy of “The Miracle Mile” never to be watched. I just considered it my civic duty to acquire those films and remove them from circulation so that today’s softer generation isn’t traumatized like we were as kids when seeing them.

We also stumbled on a used Remarkable2 at the pawn shop we frequent most often. We scanned the usual areas (guns, tools, guitars/music, and games) but didn’t find anything we wanted and were on our way out when my wife noticed the Remarkable as we passed by the electronics section we usually don’t check out. She had gotten hers early on, and I’ll admit I had been a bit jealous of it once I gave up social media and started writing – but I just couldn’t justify spending close to $500 (with case and accessories) on something like that. I scored it for $200 – half the price of a new one and it included a leather case and upgraded stylus with “eraser.” I’m pretty excited to start using it, and plan to use it once I’m done writing here. I know there are some “chicken scratch to text conversion” options (though I think I need to have a subscription) and may even start doing my writing for this on it.

As of this weekend, I’m no longer part of the state Libertarian party board, but they screwed up in how it all went down. Not uncommon with how they tend to operate, but the biggest of their fuck-ups is that this directly affected me and provided cause for a lawsuit should I decide to pursue it. It wouldn’t be difficult to wipe them out – they blew through all the tainted RFK Jr. money and only have about $12.5k in reserve, which would be gobbled up by attorney fees in just a few weeks. Additionally, since they seemed so unconcerned with D&O insurance, the individual members of the board are exposed to liability as well. Good thing I keep excellent records.

But I was just happy to not have to deal with any of it anymore until I heard from a friend of mine (who chairs a county affiliate) that they are going after him and another county officer, wanting to get them removed from the county affiliate board. Yes, the same insecure, bald, probably gay, little bitch is now going after friends of mine. Based on the bylaws and documentation, there isn’t any cause to remove them from their positions, but it could cause my friends issues as they both are running for office.

Here’s where I stand – I was ready to walk away from it all completely (well, mostly completely) until I was informed of this. If members of the state affiliate board decide to harass my friends, then the best way I can help them is to keep the state affiliate tied up with other matters to the extent that they wouldn’t have the time nor financial resources to keep up the harassment campaign. And even outside pursuing legal action, there’s information about individuals that could cause plenty of issues in their personal lives; things that aren’t necessarily illegal, but could potentially cause embarrassment to the parties (and their families) involved – like providing financial support to overtly racist organizations, or cheating on a significant other.

I guess we’ll see just how done I am with the party soon enough… good thing I never signed a NDA.
