Not gonna lie, I haven’t been in much of a mood for writing lately – there are too many other things going on. It’s early, but I need to start planning for all the seedlings I’ll be starting, and figuring out numbers. The somewhat unexpected visitors yesterday were friends of my wife who also volunteer at our local community food bank, and there was a bit of discussion about using them as a distribution point, and possibly having a signup/request sheet so I have an idea of how many plants would be needed. Of course, I would still plant more than that because there are also many others who don’t necessarily go to the food bank who’d want some plants, but I’d at least have a ballpark starting point.
We have contractors coming by this week to evaluate and bid on some projects – one of which is fixing the shit the last guy did in our bathroom. I also want a shelf system to use for plants that would fit against our front wall and windows, so I can stack more than one tier of plants there. In my idea, there will also be some cabinetry that can be used to store my indoor plant supplies on one side, and conceal the cats’ litterbox on the other. Something like that would help keep the “plant clutter” down, especially in the early growing stages where our front room has been taken over and filled with tables of seedlings the last few years.
We also need to have the door on our shed replaced – the last windstorm that blew through in mid-December pretty much ripped the already crummy doors off their hinges.
Anyhow, the first contractor should be here soon…
