We few, we happy few…

My phone didn’t arrive Friday and I was pretty irritated about that since I waited around because I’d have to sign for it. I watched as the delivery time changed from “by 2:30PM” to “before 8PM” then updated again to say delivery would be Monday (today). Fortunately, they came back out on Saturday so I was able to get it set up then.

I do feel a bit bad because I started off a bit hot with the FedEx driver, but then found out that Friday was only his second day on the job and that no one had trained him on the route. He explained trying to get out to our property but his navigation app was taking him to dead ends and impassable roads. I do understand that – if you follow Google’s directions to get here, they direct you to take a fire trail that I would have difficulty traversing in my Jeep. But it is over with now, and all I need to do is make sure the first company refunds me for the locked phone they shipped.

We went to town yesterday evening for Shakespeare in the Park – something they do annually here in my small town. Last year they performed Hamlet, but this year was my favorite (or favourite?) Shakespearean play, Henry V. In my opinion, it has the best monologue from any medium – be it a play, movie, or other: the St. Crispin’s Day speech.

We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother; be he ne’er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition:
And gentlemen in England now a-bed
Shall think themselves accursed they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That fought with us upon Saint Crispin’s day.

I always get chills through the monologue, and last night was no exception. Though now I need to watch the movie again…
