Fall prey to some madmen’s impulsive designs…

It is time to vote again tomorrow, and frankly, I’m disgusted. I’ve decided my positions on the initiatives and amendments, but as far as the elections themselves, I don’t feel I support any of the madmen on my ballot.

I can’t stand the Republicans and their kowtowing to an authoritarian wannabe dictator. I can’t stand the Democrats and their feckless resistance to the abuse of power, because if they change the system they won’t be able to use that power themselves later – or worse, the changes they want to make would just be to further their own quest for power and authority. Hell, I even don’t particularly care for the Libertarians and their willingness to sell out our principles for money or perceived relevance online. All of them – Republicans, Democrats, and yes, even Libertarians – want the power and authority to control us.

But it just so happens that I don’t care to be controlled.

I’ll often say, “I kneel for no man, and just one woman.” That’s how it has been most of my life, I follow my own path. Being married, I do consult my wife now on things, but she too knows that I am not one to be controlled. And that is exactly what voting and elections are about – casting a ballot to select the next person one wants to rule over them and their neighbors.

A slave that chooses their own master every few years is still a slave.

I haven’t decided yet what I am going to do. I have my ballot already and I’ve already filled my selection on the local issues, but I haven’t yet been able to vote for any of the candidates for non-local offices. I’ve considered my old strategy, which has been voting against the incumbent, but I’m not sure I want to do that. While a resounding rejection of the current administration would be nice, I would be complicit in voting for someone I oppose.

I’ll probably just leave my ballot as is, voting my conscience and only for what I support.

Anyhow, things to do, and candidates to contemplate. I’ll dig into the details again and perhaps will vote for one of the madmen…
