Ugh, I am terrible at email. I get a lot of mail, but usually it just requires a quick response – when I get messages from people I actually give a shit about, I want to actually dedicate time for a proper response. That is the disconnect and why I fall behind on the more meaningful mail.
I received a followup message over the weekend to an email that has been awaiting a response for months. Though the initial email arrived while the boy was here and creating chaos, I feel terrible for delaying so long. I probably need to schedule blocks of time to sit and respond to correspondence – that might help.
And speaking of slacking off on things, I didn’t get the pickles done this weekend. That said, I intentionally paused that project because I harvested more cucumbers than I believe I have sauce for so I wanted to have the time set aside to make another batch if necessary. I’ve got about 15 pounds of cucumbers to pickle now – hopefully enough to last me the winter.
I didn’t get any bass practice in either, but that too was planned. My back is still fighting with me and I don’t want to exacerbate the issues. I’ll likely need to visit the chiropractor to resolve the issue – man I miss the guy I went to in Idaho. I had a great regimen – light massage, chiropractic treatment, then full massage. Those steps loosened the muscles for the treatment then kept kept them loose enough to accept the adjustment rather than pull it right back out. I guess there are some drawbacks to living in a rural small town.
I did, however, make a batch of pizza sauce and we’re going to try our hand at making pizza. We had Round Table on our trip to LA and missed good pizza that doesn’t use Sysco frozen dough. Since all the places around here that sell pizza use the same substandard ingredients, that left us one option. The sauce is aging and I plan to make dough to proof overnight. Hopefully it will turn out well.
Anyhow, I have dough to mix, pickles to make, and mail to respond to so…
