The landscaper gal just left and I am exhausted and sore. We moved the wood piles and stacked everything, though she did most of the moving with their truck. I will be taking my muscle relaxant today. I don’t care if I get loopy, I’m taking it to make sure I don’t let anything lock up and keep me in pain for another week. We have Iron Maiden next week and I’m not going to let anything derail that.
The pile is much smaller than I thought it would be – it seems that stacking the wood pieces close together in an orderly manner takes up less space than a willy-nilly pile of wood. Who’d have known? I’m considering buying a few cord of firewood to add to the pile. I really wanted more structure there before adding the compost and soil, but may let it slide. I did source a place in the city that sells the 55-gallon water barrels but need to figure out transport.
I’ll be using one of them as a reservoir for a water feature – I want a small trickling waterfall. That will be beneficial for the birds (who chatter angrily at me for not turning on the sprinkler daily), butterflies, and pollinators. The two others I plan to paint black and used as heat batteries on the deck over winter.
Anyhow, I’m tired and sore, and need to eat something and lay down for a bit…
