Lucretia is a terrorist. I think that’s the right term – It means someone who does something that we don’t like, right? Well, last night she decided that since the catgrass planter is inaccessible to her now (it has been reseeded and is trying to fill in the giant bare patch from fat cat asses laying in it all the time), she would get her paws dirty by climbing onto the table where I had placed the rescued seedlings in their pots… and stomp right through them.
So last night was a bit of another frantic rescue mission, though there wasn’t much that could be done. Today it seems that the ones that were sprouted have recovered, but I have some concerns about some of the ones that were still trying to break the surface that got stepped on. I guess we’ll see in a few days.
Trying to compromise with her, I poured some soil into one of my plant trays for her to sit in – which she promptly dug out, scattered on the floor, and turned it into ordinary dirt. She’s not the only one – we caught Roscoe rolling around on the floor in the dirt, to the point that my hands got a bit grubby when giving him his “wet pets” this morning while showering. None of them seemed to dig much in the catgrass planter, though that could also be that the root system held things together pretty well (as I learned when dethatching and reseeding). She’s also been digging in the other plants as well, and seems to really enjoy excavating the aloe vera from pots.
Then, after a night of shenanigans, digging up plants and getting dirty, she wakes us in the wee hours of the morning with her grubby paws on our faces to ask us for food.
Yeah, if the current definition holds up, Lucretia is a terrorist.
