We are absolutely exhausted. Lucretia kept both of us awake all night because she wanted food and we had emptied the bowls and turned off the feeders because of her surgery this morning. I gave her the nightly soft treat she gets a bit early, in time for the 10PM cut off for her eating, but that wasn’t enough. All night long she would come over and wake one or both of us up trying to get us to feed her. One time she even opened the door on our headboard where we store a bowl of her kitten food, climbed in, and tried opening the bowl up. I ended up moving the bowl but man that kitten can be loud and annoying when she wants something.
We took her in first thing this morning, and picked her up a bit ago. She is still acting a bit “drunk” from the anesthesia – wobbling around looking goofy – but her appetite is still normal. We were warned by the vet to feed her carefully and not let her overeat as the anesthesia can make her nauseous, but she vocally expressed her displeasure at that and promptly started asking for food.
She’s laying near me now resting after her big adventure, and I think that means it might be the perfect time for a nap…
