Got to pick up the pace if you want to stay in the race…

A bit of a late start today as after breakfast I immediately jumped into starting food prep for tomorrow.

I’ve calmed down quite a bit over the contractor issue after talking with my wife more about it. We had previously just accepted the poor quality work, thought that the reduced balance was sufficient compensation for it, and were just glad that he was out of our lives. But now we are getting another contractor to quote out what it will take to fix all his mistakes and are going to take him to court to pay for the repairs. I spoke with the manufacturer Monday and one look at the photos they could tell immediately it was an installation issue – the person I spoke with promised to forward the case to their legal department, since the contractor suggested I go after the company because the crooked alcove was a “manufacturing issue.”

Other than that, not much to say. I’m no longer 100% in Ghost of Yotei because that new “Play+” mode was released Monday and with it a couple more achievements. That said, I really just need another playthrough and I’ll be back to 100%. My buddy is back from his trip to Korea and Japan, so I’ll be jumping back into The Division 2 to game with him as well. I’ve always been more into PC gaming than consoles but I have to admit, it’s pretty comfortable and convenient to just be able to flop down on the couch or in bed to play something. I’ve cut back on gaming quite a bit, but I do tend to play more during the winter months.

The kitten is settling in nicely, but still wants her special food in the middle of the night and wakes me for it. She woke me at about 5AM this morning but I managed to put her off until about 6, when I got up to go to the bathroom. I can always tell when she’s asking for food because she is already purring loud as she walks up, then acts overly affectionate. When I’m sleeping she wakes me by sticking her little wet nose in my ear and purrs as loud as she can – she also gets so excited that she drools and I have woken to receiving a “wet willy” on a few occasions now.

Anyhow, back to food prep. Remember, tomorrow is about giving thanks and being thankful for what you have. That, and watching the “Turkey Drop” episode of WKRP.
