I tried something different today – I haven’t looked at my phone yet. Well, I’ve looked at it, but haven’t opened emails, or done anything to clear any of the notifications – just looked.
I noticed the other day that I would wake up with a mind full of ideas and creative thoughts, but all that seemed to disappear as soon as I started scrolling. I know that part of that is related to the asleep/awake transition, but even with basic Psych 101 education one can deduce that the morning doomscroll has an effect on one’s thinking processes. My plan is to do some writing (for this site or other purpose) before giving in to the urge to doomscroll – if anything, perhaps this will help break me out of the social media cycle.
The weather has been amazing the past couple days, but my health issues have been acting up so I haven’t been able to get all the things done that I’ve wanted to. I still need to get to town for some additional soil and supplies to get all my plants going for the season, and I still need to give away a lot of seedlings. Hopefully by next year, I’ll have everything set up and be able to give away full container growing kits to anybody that wants one.
And today is also “Chinese Food Truck Day.”
I’ll definitely need to push the limits a bit and see if I can get to town today.
