Well, I still don’t have my new phone working. I paid more for an unlocked phone so that I could install GrapheneOS on it, but when I popped in my SIM to prep things for the install the phone alert said it was locked to AT&T, even though when I called, they had no record of the phones IMEI in their system. I looked at a bunch of the reviews (I know, a bit late) and saw that there were many people complaining of the same issue with the phones from this company. Thankfully I’m able to return the phone still, and I ordered another from the company I got my last phone from which should be here in time for me to get it set up and switch over before my trip to the wedding.
I spent time catching up with my old friend yesterday, emailing back and forth, getting and providing life updates. I’m still riding the high of reconnecting with her, and am excited for my wife to meet her as she was someone I’d often mention in conversations about my past. Hopefully soon we’ll be able to schedule a phone call and catch up properly.
It turns out, she and her family escaped California for her husband’s job the same year we did, and they moved not too far from one of my best friends. This friend has one of the “big birthdays” coming up so we may be in the area later this year – hopefully things will work out with the timing and we’ll be able to meet up with her on that trip as well.
Anyhow, things to do and I have an email waiting to be responded to.

Trump slams ‘past supporters’ over fixation on Epstein – “President Trump on Wednesday admonished and sought to distance himself from supporters who have pressed for more information about documents related to disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein. In a lengthy Truth Social post, Trump dismissed the uproar over the Epstein files as a “scam” perpetuated by Democrats and suggested he no longer welcomed his backers who have called for more transparency around the documents.”
I finally found free private apps that are better than Proton – I wouldn’t go as far as saying they are better than the Proton suite, but they are alternatives if you don’t want to pay for the Proton services.
