Didn’t have a chance to write yesterday – Monday night we got a hotel and stayed in the city so we wouldn’t have to get up and be on the road at 5AM to take my wife to the airport. By the time I got back home I was exhausted and ended up napping most of the day. I didn’t sleep well last night either, partially because I had napped so much (yet still felt exhausted) and partially because my wife wasn’t here to nudge me and remind me that it was time to go to sleep.
The cats, and Roscoe in particular, are unhappy with the chaos and altered routines due to their missing humans. Poor Roscoe still hasn’t really had a chance to find a new routine since Maynard passed. First it was the surprise kitten, then my wife’s trip, then our vacation trip, then my trip, and now another trip for my wife. He hasn’t had any real stability in his routine for a couple months now. The others, while irritated their routines have changed somewhat, seem to be taking it much better. Pearl is content as long as she gets her pets and snuggles, while Lucretia is fine as long as someone is around to give her the kitten food. Roscoe, however, has seemed depressed and has barely left the corner by the front door as if he’s waiting for my wife to return – he is a bit of a momma’s boy.
I think I’m gonna drag him out of the corner and give him some snuggles.
