I had an appointment for my Jeep today and dropped it off last night so I wouldn’t have to this morning. Well, I should say I thought I had an appointment today – apparently it is Thursday. I apparently misinterpreted the day, even though the correct date was written on the appointment card. So now I need to decide if I’m going to retrieve it to have for the rest of today and tomorrow, and have to return it tomorrow evening, or just leave it a couple days. I’m leaning towards leaving it, but I don’t like not having my vehicle readily accessible.
I started the tsukemono pickles yesterday and finished off another gallon, but I will indeed need to make more sauce. I need to be conscious about refrigerator space as well, since these need to be kept cold. It might be time to pull my small office fridge out of storage. I’ll probably make more over the next few days and finish this up, though there are a few more cucumbers ready on the vine.
The season is about done – we are projected to have our first frost this weekend – so everything moving forward should be just wrapping up projects. There’s luffa and bottle gourd still on the vine so I’ll need to cover them Saturday night to protect them from the frost. I also need to decide if I am mulching or planting a cover crop – likely mulching at this point. Our growing season is pretty short so I don’t really want to waste grow time on a cover crop. I still need to complete the final harvest, but that shouldn’t take too long.
It is also going to be perfect curry weather this weekend, and I have some homegrown veggies for it.
I haven’t created a plan nor schedule to address email yet, but I’m going to start working on it today. If I’m leaving my Jeep at the shop in town, then I really have no excuse. I’ll have nowhere to go and can tackle email in between end-of-season and winterizing projects.
Anyhow, I need to make pizza dough and start tackling email…
