I am absolutely wiped today. I was awakened by a phone call at around 5:45 AM from the logistics company who now had my desk and they were letting me know they would be delivering it about 8 AM. I tried going back to sleep for a bit but then received a call right around 7 from a company I had called yesterday and requested a callback after being on hold a while. I practically hung up on them, but I couldn’t get back to sleep, and even if I did it would just have been for a little bit as I had to be up to receive the delivery.
I got up and made a cup of tea, but of course the delivery driver called saying they were running behind due to a flat tire and would be arriving closer to 9:30. Since I then had about an hour and a half until his arrival, I started my morning routine and just as I was about to step into the shower, I got a call from the trucking company who is hauling the compost up the hill to our property.
At least it was good news – there wasn’t enough rain to force them to postpone the delivery until next week, so I’ll be having 15 tons of compost dumped in our field this afternoon. The compost is free, but the delivery is not, but we’re willing to pay a couple hundred bucks to hire the truck and driver for that much compost.
I had planned on making a run to town today to pick up a few hooks to hang a few plants on our deck and start giving away the tomato plants, but now that the desk has been delivered, I’d really like to have that assembled and in place before I do anything else.
Well, that desk isn’t going to put itself together, so…
