Yesterday afternoon was a bit painful, but I got my PC and recording gear moved and the space prepped for the plumbers, who arrived just a bit ago. It was cold again last night so the plants all had to be indoors as well. It is going to be that way for the next couple nights, but the plant giveaway will be starting this weekend through the end of May. Usually, Memorial Day is when I would put all the plants out, but I’m actually not going to be planting everything until closer to June. There are still a few cold nights and I don’t want to risk losing new transplants.
It’s going to be hectic over the next couple weeks – we have lots of projects coming to a head, and need to finish the preparations for my grandson’s arrival and stay. I ordered the fencing today, so hopefully that will be here in time for me to install and plant everything the following weekend. The trucking company is supposed to be here Thursday with 15 tons of compost for my field, and the landscapers should be here early next week to spread it all out. We’ve been on a roll with all the projects, and hopefully we’ll have most things we want done by the end of the summer. Well at least the infrastructure projects – I don’t expect to have my shop, greenhouse, or cabins all built this season.
The plumbers are repairing a leaking faucet, replacing a faucet that was removed for some reason, and installing a new line and faucet that bypasses our water softener and puts out straight well water. I’ll still need to run a small in-line filter to help remove some of the minerals in the hard water, but the plants will enjoy that much more than the salts from the softener. I will now also be able to set up an automatic watering system to cut down on some of the daily garden chores.
Anyhow, the head plumber needs me for something – hopefully they are about done since they are hourly, so…
