Rallying round to the call…

It being so cold out (and snowing a bit), my wife wanted a lazy gaming weekend so that’s what we had. I still made the usual biscuits and gravy on Saturday but we quickly made our way back to lounge and game. Because of my health issues, I’m not able to be as physically active as I had been in the past, so gaming is one of the activities we do “together.” Usually we aren’t playing the same game, but just next to each other while playing our own games, but I did order another PS5 controller and picked up several two-player split-screen co-op games for us to play together.

Sunday was more of the same – a pretty lazy day. In addition to the split-screen games, I also picked up Rise of the Ronin which reminds me a lot of the Ghost of… games but a bit “grittier.” It’s also set in the mid-1800s which was certainly an interesting period in Japan’s history, with the cross of traditional and (somewhat) modern weapons while the imperialist foreigners are trying to negotiate and open trade routes. I had downloaded and played through the demo and decided to buy it as well since it was on sale. I’m not as fond of the interface (the Ghost games had minimal interface and no HUD for better immersion) but the game itself is quite fun and interesting.

We have to be up early tomorrow to take Lucretia to the vet (again) to get fixed, so tonight will probably be a bit earlier for us. Which means I need to get stuff done around here…
