Late start today and it’s gonna be a short one again. Tomorrow will also likely be short as we have company arriving tomorrow and visiting for a few days, and I have a lot of food prep to such to do. Planning on smoked tri-tips, grilled/smoked chicken Caesar salad, and my “award winning” Philley Bites.
The Philley Bites are so named after Joe Philley, a friend that passed several years ago, who judged a cook-out contest where these were declared the winner. They were so good that even the vegetarian CEO of a $9B tech company tried them and loved them. (I’m not gonna out him, but I would wager that pretty much everyone in the US would be at least familiar with one of their product offerings.) They are pretty simple to make, but there’s a lot of prep time involved with them so that’s one of the things I need to work on today so everything will be ready to go tomorrow.
I’ve been thinking about posting recipes here – I do a lot of formulation and experimentation for DIY stuff (insect repellents, beard oils, different food dishes, etc). I might start including those moving forward, along with a few other ideas and features.
Interesting Tidbits
How Internet of Things devices affect your privacy – even when they’re not yours – “The data from these devices can reveal a lot about the people who interact with them – and about other people around the devices.”
Here’s a running list of all of Tesla’s robotaxi mishaps so far – “Tesla’s robotaxi rollout has been rockier than the fanboys and influencers who got early access to the company’s driverless vehicles would like you to believe.”
The rise of AI worship: the cult that believes ChatGPT is divine – “The cult of robotheism isn’t limited to fringe groups. Doctors, teachers, bankers, and other professionals are increasingly viewing AI as a spiritual entity, spending hours in conversation with ChatGPT and believing they’ve ‘awakened’ it to consciousness.” C’mon, if you’re gonna join a cult, join one that worships someone that is real… like mine.
The Jewish supremacy at the heart of the Zionist project – “Ideas of Jewish supremacy have been central to the Zionist movement from its beginning. Just as we call out white supremacy in the United States, we must call out Jewish supremacy in occupied Palestine.” To be very clear, there is a difference between hating someone because of their nationality or ethnicity, and hating the agenda of a government or nation state.
Trump’s ‘Antiwar’ Myth and the Zionist Reality – “‘I’m not going to start wars, I’m going to stop wars.’ But this antiwar rhetoric has always been a smokescreen, especially when it comes to Iran—a country that has been the singular focus of Trump’s most aggressive, interventionist actions.”
