Day two of my attempt at writing daily – I made myself actually go live with the site yesterday and told two people about it. I think that might be the strategy, tell one or two people a day and just keep writing.

Something else I did was hide the archives that I had brought over behind membership. There’s no fees or anything to join the cult, but it’s going to be basic gatekeeping so that all my old shit is solely for people who are actually interested. I’m also going to have the forum and any sort of nudity (remember fan signs?) behind that as well. I will still be bringing over the rest of the archives, but that’s going to take some time – I have years of (almost) daily posts to bring over, and I also eventually want to add commentary to some of those posts to either provide an update, or explanations of my old viewpoint and where I am now on it. I’ll also be bringing over the old gallery albums and adding new ones… yes, the fan signs will be returning.

I don’t think this site will grow in the same manner that it did nearly 25 years ago – the internet ecosystem has changed so much, and most people don’t go to websites anymore for this sort of interaction – it is all about social media now. While working on all this, I’ve found myself wondering about a lot of the people from the old scene: Kev from Ratatak, Lindsay from Roxycat, and Shiloh from RubberAnchovies to name a few. I’m still in touch (somewhat) with Idiot from SomeIdiot and Elisa from Bijou, but there are a lot of folk that I’d like to check in with and see how they are doing.

I’m also on the search for new blogs and sites to follow – are there any out there that have a similar mindset or is it all just AI slop these days? I guess we’ll see.

Interesting Tidbits

There’s a new pope – and he’s an American. Some believe he might be the last one… but you can see if you can successfully become the pope yourself!

New Motörhead album!? “The Manticore Tapes” will be released on June 27, and features the classic lineup with Lemmy, Fast Eddie, and Philthy Animal.

Am I too Online? “Being Very Online distorts reality. It makes niche internet feuds feel momentous. The loudest voices, and the memes they share, appear to represent society.”

RIP Skype

Meet the man whose lies put an innocent sailor in prison for 20 years – the ATF are a bunch of thugs who’ll lie and falsify evidence to get arrests. “Bodell took the inert rocket launchers to the ATF’s lab and added missing fire-control components including a firing pin from a functional RPG from the ATF’s collection. The agent also added a sub-caliber training device that resembles a warhead, which can fire 7.62x39mm rounds on its own without even loading it into an RPG. ‘He fired a 7.62x39mm rifle cartridge through it utilizing the sub-caliber training device, which is a standalone rifle that can be fired independently on its own,’ Adamiak said last week.”

Voluntaryism Means More Cajun Navies – “Voluntaryism simply states that the ideal is that all human interaction should be voluntary—that we build better communities, better societies, and a better world when we use cooperative means to solve problems rather than those where we take from our neighbor to benefit ourselves.”
