That’s it… why can’t people understand that humiliation is very fucking different from torture? It is my belief that (most of) the acts were approved by Military Intelligence or other shadowy government agencies. Just like the psychological aspects of Fraternity hazing (which the acts depicted in the photos have been likened to), these acts are designed specifically to humiliate the enemy forces in a way that will strip away their ego and break their will… thus allowing the interrogators to extract needed information without the use of physical force.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I want to be very clear… I absolutely do not believe that these photos are torture. Torture is having your hands tied behind your back and then left to hang by your arms for days<\/a>. Torture is amputation, electric shock, electric drills, acid baths, rape, forced self-cannibalism, dismemberment and ax beatings<\/a>. Torture is electrocution and execution for speaking out.<\/a> Being humiliated and forced to wear panties is not torture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some have said that they prefer Saddam’s methods over being forced to wear women’s underwear<\/a>. I say that they should then give them a choice… but we won’t. We aren’t like that. We won’t (save for a few rogue actions) use extreme physical means to extract information. We are not like them. We won’t do that. See the difference: (Warning – Graphic images)<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

You do have a point and I agree to an extent. My only counterpoints are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1) This just proves that the Army really shouldn’t have to ask. wink wink<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2) The retailiation factor is now going to be 10 fold<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3)If any Iraqi had any good feelings for the occupying soldiers there; that is now all gone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4) This also proves how bad the administration is. After all the reports, GWB gives a half ass apology, if you can even call it that, to the Iraqi people he is supposed to care so much about that he spent 50 billion of your tax dollars and counting to save.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5) 10,000 Iraqis and 600 or more US soldiers dead and I am paying $2.25 a gallon WTF!!!! I would really like to know what the hell we are there for.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1) True… they should just turn the spooks loose on them to extract whatever information they need. \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2) Yes, and it should be met with a crushing blow to completely eliminate them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3) I wouldn’t go to that extreme. Yes there will be some opinions swaying, but that will be mostly caused by the liberals here whining about how bad a job we are doing over there and how we need to pull out. If that happens it will be an even worse mess.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4) I’m not happy with our current administration because of the way they are handling things. But I still stand by the fact that Bush is better than Kerry anyday. At least he stands for something… you may not agree with it, but at least he makes a stand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5) More proof that this wasn’t a war for oil like the flaming liberals like to claim. \ud83d\ude09 $2.25\/gal… you must be in Cali too?
