Now I’m not just pissed at the terrorists and liberal media… now I’m pissed at the liberal anti-Bush conspiracy theorists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the comments from my last post about Nick Berg’s fateful day, I was directed to an article on a liberal website. This article was disputing the authenticity of the murder of Nicholas Berg and eluding that he was actually killed by the U.S. Government. (I’m not going to link that site directly because I think that they are a bunch of idiots, but I have left it in the previous post’s comments.) After reading the article I posted a response in the comments, but I felt that it would be a bit better to spend more time on the subject and point out the fallacies one by one.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n The article lists specific points of dispute so I shall address each of these in turn:<\/p>\n\n\n\n 1) extremely convenient ‘wag the dog’ timing at the height of furor regarding U.S. torture of Iraqis<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n Hey, we didn’t pick the timing of the murder… they did. Nicholas Berg was captured April 10th and his body was found on May 8th and the video released on May 11th. Those animals kept him for a month until the timing was most opportune to murder him for their twisted cause.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 2) CNN poll question: ‘Is the Berg killing a reason for withholding any remaining Iraq prisoner abuse pictures?’ Bush has been reported to be struggling with question of whether Pentagon should release additional torture photos. Given that the alleged decapitation of Berg was allegedly prompted by the first wave of torture photos, Bush could now cite ‘national security’ issues for witholding additional materials.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n Personally I don’t think it would matter if he releases the remaining photos or not… we have already been promised a “Summer of Blood” by the Islamic terrorists, and they have just begun. There are many more civilians that are still missing and are most likely “assembled sheep” waiting for the slaughter as al Zarqawi has ordered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 3) Berg’s last known whereabouts was in U.S. custody.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n Berg’s last known whereabouts was outside of U.S. custody as he was released on April 6th, after turning down a flight out of Iraq. His last known communication with anyone in the U.S. was April 9th to his parents and it is believed that he visited his uncle in Iraq on April 10th. Perhaps his Iraqi uncle (by marriage) would have a better understanding of what happened that day?<\/p>\n\n\n\n 4) Berg shown in video wearing orange jumpsuit known to be of U.S. issue (compare with pictures at Guantanamo).<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n Berg is definately wearing orange clothing but I certainly do not believe that the U.S. issues silk jumpsuits to prisoners. Take a look at the opening scene and you can see the sheen off the material. Muslim men are forbidden from wearing gold and silk<\/a>: “Whoever of my ummah wears gold and dies wearing it, Allah will deny him the gold of Paradise. Whoever of my ummah wears silk and dies wearing it, Allah will deny him the silk of Paradise.” Putting their victim in a “golden” (orange) silk suit is likely their symbolic way of keeping their victim out of Paradise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 5) Berg mysteriously captured by Al-Quaeda (still wearing jumpsuit). Either he escaped from U.S. captors or U.S. let him out — with orange suit and all — to be immediately apprehended by Al-Quaeda (before he had a chance to change).<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n See my previous response to #4<\/p>\n\n\n\n 6) Tape obviously spliced together and heavily edited. Goes from a) Berg sitting in chair talking about family, to b) Berg sitting on floor with hooded “militants” behind, to c) blurry camera movement, to d) almost motionless Berg on floor as head cut off.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n Basic video editing 101… like I did 15 years ago. They are using two cameras with sound dubbed from a single source. Here’s my basic analysis of the video and it’s timecode: the opening starts with the timecode at 13:26:24 from a side angle until 12:26:27. It then switches to a forward angle with the timecode at 2:18:33 until 2:18:43. The video switches from the chair scene to him sitting on the floor infront of the terrorists with the timecode at 2:40:32. They babble about their fucked up religion and try to say its the fault of the American government that they are murdering this guy until 2:44:12 when they grab him and the camera angle switches to the side view again and it begins to zoom in with the time code set to 13:45:47. It stays with that camera at least until 13:47:52 when I get a video error and the vid stops playing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 7) Audio clearly dubbed in.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n Yes it is… I believe it’s the sound from the first camera but I didn’t analyze the sound as much since his screams get to me more than the video itself. But even if not, it’s very common when doing multi camera shoots to record the audio seperately and add it in post-production. They just did a pretty shitty job at it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 8) ‘Arab’ reader flips through pages of ‘statement’ and keeps ending up on the same page. Perhaps doesn’t even known enough Arabic to recognize what page he’s on?<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n This is stupid. At about a 1:30 into the video, the terrorist reading flips the page and reads a differnet side. Their flippant comment about not knowing enough Arabic? I shouldn’t have to even address it but if they REALLY were Americans that were staging this, they wouldn’t have to have the papers in Arabic dumbasses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 9) ‘Arabs’ have lily-white hands and (other exposed) skin.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n Gee, it’s really sad that some people think that we Americans are the only ones with white skin in this world and that all “Arabs” have dark brown skin. But that is beside the point… it looks just like video bleaching out a bit with the lighting. If you watch the closeup shots of them murdering Nick Berg, you will see that their skin ranges from relatively dark to olive. (But this cover photo from al Jazeera<\/a> shows ‘Arabs’ that appear to have “lily-white hands” as well as this guy who looks relatively light skinned<\/a>. “Arabs” come in all colors as well, dumbass.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n 10) ‘Arabs’ have Western-style body posture and mannerisms.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n I’m not even going to wast my time addressing this one. Don’t be stupid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 11) When Berg decapitated, there was almost no blood. If Berg were still alive at this point, with the cut starting at front of throat, blood would have been spraying everywhere. Berg’s severed head, the floor, Berg’s clothes, and even the hand of the ‘Arab’ who decapitated Berg had no visible blood on it.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n There absolutely was blood. The way they held the body would have prevented it from “spraying” as they indicated, but it did run out. While because of the amateur recording and dark floor it is more difficult to see than the blood in Hollywood productions, you can see the ground changing color and getting darker. Just watch it slowly if you can stomach it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 12) Berg’s body didn’t move while on the ground. Although held down, Berg would have tried to instinctively wiggle and writhe away from captor’s grip.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n Berg’s body did move. You can see him struggle at the very beginning and as the camera zooms in you can see his face grimace so I don’t believe that he was already dead before the beheading. The closeup on his head is the reason why you can’t see the rest of his body struggling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 13) Camera angle made it impossible to see if Berg’s eyes were even open.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n I don’t think the terrorists were trying to win an Oscar for best cinematography.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 14) Alleged ‘scream’ from Berg sounded to be that of a woman and was clearly dubbed in.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n I’m sorry, but if you were getting your head chopped off by a bunch of militant Islamic terrorists you’d be screaming like a bitch too. It wasn’t dubbed in, the amatuer video producers just have the A\/V synchronisation off a tad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 15) Berg goes to great trouble to identify himself, providing information about his family. Why? To elicit greater sympathy? Or to provide a positive ID. FBI visited Berg family in an attempt to ‘verify his identity’. Guy in video looks very little like Berg photos provided by family.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n That is common practice with hostages. The terrorists want people to know who they are. They capture them and have them identify themselves before reading statements. They did the same to Daniel Pearl before they cut his head off… remember?<\/p>\n\n\n\n Anyhow, I hope that this puts to rest any doubts that this is a real murder by real Islamic terrorists. The people who are trying to use this in an attempt to discredit Bush and allege that the U.S. Government is behind the killing are also sick fuckos that don’t care about the facts. They just want to take whatever thay can to spin it and attack Bush. They too are only about hate. They don’t support John Kerry and his causes… they just hate Bush and are fools to choose that way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Interesting tidbits:<\/p>\n\n\n\n Again for those who haven’t seen it and want to here is a page with multiple links to download the video of Nick Berg being murdered<\/a> by the Islamic terrorists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n This looks like a wicked cool game<\/a>… I may just have to buy it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n John Kerry supports the little guy!
