Happy Solstice. Yea, I’ve been way busy lately… once I get into the groove of things I’ll start posting more again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But there has been other developments in my life as well…<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n So I was working for these guys a while back. We didn’t have a contract and everything was pretty much a handshake deal. At the time it was all based on the idea of a percentage deal when profits started rolling in, but it eventually came to a point where we had a falling out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I won’t go into all the fine details, but in a nutshell it came about after one principal fucked around with the network and ended up creating a mess for me to clean up. I wasn’t too thrilled about the dumbass doing that and the shrimp-dick principal wasn’t too thrilled with me calling him on his stupidity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n At that point he and I decided that it would be best for me to work for them purely as a contractor, and at that point he said to invoice him for the work that I had done previously and he would pay me for it. (I had created a new website for them, setup their network, and done alot of desktop publishing for them.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n I invoiced them but never heard anything. I reinvoiced them after 15 days. Then again after 30 days. I finally called and the shrimp-dick basically told me to fuck off and that if I wanted to be paid, I needed to talk to his attorney partner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I left a message for the attorney partner, but he never had the balls to call me back and actually speak to me. He did, however, respond via email.<\/p>\n\n\n\n So the email was basically full of allegations of negligence, incompetence, and near fraudulent activities. Here’s an excerpt:<\/p>\n\n\n\n The hosting companies you referred our website and e-mail accounts to, Now any half intelligent individual would realize that if they receive email from “mailadministrator@wehaveshrimpdicks.com” and there is no real mail administrator account… then it is probably because they had their full email addresses posted on their old website and a virus harvested said address and spoofed the mail administrator account. Oh yea, these are the same dumbasses who actually tried to open the “instructions” file that would prevent them from being used by the evil domain hijacking spammers. Oh yea… the reason they stopped getting the spam messages is because after so long of not paying, I cut off their mail forwarding service so they stopped getting email from their old accounts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Anyhow I digress… my question is this: Do I pursue this and go through all the hassle to get my fucking money or do I just say fuck it and walk away? I do believe that I am in the right and that the law is on my side. I know that the shrimp-dick attorney is just trying to bully me and scare me into dropping the whole thing. This deal is worth about $2000 and I sure could use the money, but is it really worth it?<\/p>\n\n\n\n I could take them to small claims court and I am certain that I would win. I can easy dismantle their accusations, and whatever the original arrangement was, that is superceeded by their later offer and my acceptance of those terms. I know I can win… but it will be a long drawn out battle, and I know they will do everything they can to just make things a hassle for me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I still have yet to respond to their email. generated a considerable amount of spam on a daily basis. Our e-mail
domains were hijacked and used to generate outgoing spam, some of it
directed back at our own accounts. This alone could subject us to liability
to the extent third-party recipients hold us responsible for failing to
