I finished the pickle project, and am over canning for a while. We ended up not<\/em> going on the ninja road trip, and I decided to tackle the pickles yesterday – and am now paying for it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I didn’t realize just how much energy goes into the process, as these projects were my first attempts at it. A big part of it was all the extra “attentive” steps – peeling my own garlic rather than buying the pre-peeled stuff, etc. That said, I do have extra sauce now and am saving it for another batch that hopefully won’t take nearly as long to make.<\/p>\n\n\n

I still haven’t decided on the recipe plugin I’ll use, but I did decide that I will post recipes here. I’ll probably start with the pickle ones, and then just whatever I happen to be cooking and talking about. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I’m paying for all that effort today. My back is killing me in protest for all the hunching I did yesterday and that always causes the nerve pain to flare. So today is a day I’m taking my muscle relaxant earlier than I usually do, and will likely need another tonight. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anyhow, the muscle relaxant always makes me a bit drowsy and loopy so I’m calling it here for today…<\/p>\n\n\n\n
