The landscaper showed up this morning with a truck bed and trailer full of sweet, sweet compost… and pulled up about 5-10 minutes after it started snowing. It took about a half hour in the cold to get it all dumped (not spread yet) and we are going to circle back to finish the project when the weather is better (so likely next week). The snow coming down right now is the kind that’s big and fluffy, and sticks. I was covered by the time they left, and the girls even eased me a bit about looking like a snowman with all the snow stuck to my clothes, beard, and constantly needing to wipe off my glasses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It’s going to be cold for several days, so I think it might be time for another batch of stew. One thing I always do is add vegetable juice (in addition to beef stock) – my wife eats like a picky 5-year-old and I have to come up with ways to get her to consume vegetables, and this seems to work well. She actually just texted and said she’s down for another batch of curry as well (I just made it this weekend, but it is a favorite), so I’ll probably start with stew, then do the curry in another day or two and we can switch off with the leftovers so we don’t get burned out on either one. These should last the week, though I think I’ll need to clear some space in the refrigerator to make room for it all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I also just got a text with information that suggests I might need to go on an extended trip to help as a caregiver (if I’m physically able to meet the requirements).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Well, I need to put out some fires (and ironically, also start one as it’s a bit chilly).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
