Well it sure has been a hell of a year. Lots of ups and downs, but I need to focus on the ups rather than the downs. Everything that happens, good or bad, molds the person you are and how you evolve. There are events from my past that I remember as negative experiences at the time, but now can see that had they not happened, I would be in a vastly different place than I am currently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Had I not been colorblind, I would have enlisted in the Navy at 17, and at the time had planned on at least a 20 year career. That certainly would have been a different life path.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
My best friend was killed when we were 20 – had that not happened, I would have likely ended up working in law enforcement and that would have been a dramatically different trajectory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bad relationships, friendships beginning and ending, friends and family dying – these things appear to be “bad” but they are part of the flames that temper the metal of life. Without adversity, you’d end up soft and malleable. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
So it’s time to put that negative behind me and focus on the positive changes that were brought about due to the “bad.” This year is no exception, and next year won’t be either.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
