So I lost the fight yesterday and the pre-cold is a full on cold now. My symptoms are much less severe than my wife’s, but I think that’s because I have my usual “post-travel” regimen I stick to because of travel bugs just like this. We’re both pretty miserable right now so we plan to just sleep it off as much as possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Being the least sick, I decided to make a big batch of spaghetti that we can eat over the next couple days – and promptly burned my hand from an oil splash. Thankfully the oil wasn’t fully heated, but the splash did cover a good portion of my hand. I got my hand under running water in less than a second, and have been applying aloe vera to it since. It is certainly uncomfortable right now, but it could be worse and I’m used to being uncomfortable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I’m usually not big on taking drugs for fever\/pain\/etc (drugs are supposed to be for fun!) but the ones I do take are mainly to be comfortable enough to sleep. NyQuil is one, but my favorite is, and has always been, Children’s Dimetapp. Yep, that purple stuff for kids – it clears my sinuses and and knocks me right out. I know they say it’s “grape” flavor, but I’ve never had a single grape that tastes like that. I don’t know when that flavor was labeled “grape” but it isn’t – it taste’s like purple.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Anyhow the Dimetapp is making me a bit loopy and I am gonna nap.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
