I almost broke my streak and didn’t post today. I didn’t sleep well again, and had a bad muscle spasm that woke me early morning.Ended up cramping as well and ended up with a bad knot in my leg that I struggled to walk off this morning.I’ve got it mostly stretched out now, but it’s still annoying me and causing an increase in the pain signals being sent out. I hope this will all be cleared up and my pain levels will be back to “normal” before I have to travel for a wedding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Oddly enough, yesterday I stumbled on an article about gabapentin<\/a> and how it is linked to increased dementia and cognitive impairment. This was the drug I mentioned in yesterday’s post that literally retarded my brain and thinking processes. I had initially just assumed that my own cognitive impairment came from exhaustion due to the constant effort to suppress the pain signals (or just age), but I never considered that some of the medications I had to take could have caused long term negative effects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Frankly, that is one of the reasons I wanted to start writing again. I had noticed a degradation in my memory and thought and decided that forcing myself to perform more cognitive activities would be beneficial. I also thought that having creative outlets like writing would help distract my mind from the fatigue of suppressing pain.
